The Last Three Months In One Post. Ready, Set, Go!

Ok, so pretty much I know that it's been a little while since the last blog post. But that's ok! Here is a quick "catch me up" of the last three months. Just so you know, A LOT of exciting and fun things have been going on in the Hope house so be prepared for many more blog posts to come.
For now...... Enjoy reading up on the last three months.

Melanie started sleeping in her "big girl!" At first she got out a couple times during the night, but soon enough she got used to it and now sleeps in it like a champ. :)

Before Thanksgiving we celebrated my brother Ricky's birthday.

Also before Thanksgiving, Melanie practiced her eating method for the big day. Lol! This kid loves her some ham and cheese scrambled eggs. Mmmmm!

Thanksgiving day, we all piled up and took a festive selfie. Haha!

We all went over to our Grandma Ebert's house for the big Thanksgiving feast.

Practicing her eating methods with the scrambled eggs paid off! Melanie LOVED Thanksgiving dinner. :)

Then came Christmas time!

As tradition, we all decorated our own gingerbread houses. Dallan's brother Justin and his wife Lacy are living in Washington and we even got to decorate with them! Thank goodness for technology :) It was cool that even though we are states away, we can still do things, see, and talk to one another.

Melanie's first gingerbread house that she decorated on her own. :)

All of our creations.

"Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!"

I love me some Melanie kisses (even though they are really wet and sometimes boogery). Lol!

As tradition, we always have to make a trip to temple square during Christmas time to check out the lights.
BEAUTIFUL!

This year we went with my family :)

Every year we get an ornament to put on the tree. This year Melanie got an owl.

This year we also discovered a really cool park in Draper where they have a "tree of life."

It really does look like how I imagine the tree of life would look. In this picture anyways....

This year Melanie discovered that at Great Grandma and Grandpa Hope's house there is a pretty cool Christmas train set. Her favorite part was pushing the button and making the train whistle. Choo choo!

So cool story... We literally have had a crappy winter. No snow, not really cold, nothing. After having no snow forever, it decides to come down on Christmas day. The day before we could see the sun and the grounds were bare. Christmas rolls around, and BAM! Snow is EVERYWHERE! It was a Christmas miracle. Lol! We all got our white Christmas. Melanie loved it! This picture was taken Christmas morning at my parents' house.
Uncle Ricky made her this really cute minion beanie!

Sitting on Tata's lap hugging her new owl pillow.

Have I mentioned that this kid likes to eat? Haha! In these particular pictures she wanted to eat her pizza like the rest of us rather that cut into little pieces. She did pretty well minus the fact that her hand and shirt got all saucy. Haha!

A long time ago my Nana had this dress made for me. My mom has kept it all these years and now that I have a little girl, she wanted to try it on Melanie. In these two pictures Melanie and I are about the same age which it cool. :) Me on the left and Melanie on the right.

One evening while Dallan was at school, my parents took Melanie and me out for ice cream.

Needless to say she loved it!

January came and it was soon Melanie's 2nd Birthday!
It was easy picking out a design for the cake, especially since she's obbssessed with owls.

If only we can be more like children. She was so happy and thankful for everything she got. Every present that she opened, she had a huge smile on her face.

Then we sang Happy Birthday to her and she blew out the candle all by herself!

You were waiting for it huh.... These two. Adorable.

Funny story, one day I was trying to put Melanie down for her nap. She fought and fought. She just simply did not want to take a nap. Instead, she insisted she put me down for a nap intead......
In her bed. Surrounded by her owls and Elmo.
She even read me a "bed time story."
Hahaha!

We like to have lunch dates with Uncle Ricky.

After lunch with my brother, we went to the mall and took Melanie to the fountain. I showed her how to toss pennies into the fountain.

She liked it so much that I don't have anymore pennies in my wallet...

I'm so grateful that my mom taught me how to cook. I'm sure Dallan is even more thankful. Hahaha!
He never starves.

Sometimes we like to play "pirates."
Hahaha! ARRRRG!

We love to color around here. Learning ABC's while coloring is the best way to learn sometimes!

Whelp.... There it is. The last three months in a post :)
There is more to come and this time it won't take me as long to write them... I hope.
