Autumn Is Here! Weather Is Getting Cooler! Happy Halloween...Muahahahaha! October Was Loads Of Fun! Sooo Many Exciting Things Happened This Last Month!

So much has happened this October. Of course so much happens all the time, but since it is now the end of the year (I can't believe it) EVEN MORE fun things go on.
First things first... General Conference this month was absolutely awesome as usual! Melanie, of course only being one year old, gets bored so her aunt Lauren let her play with her toy animals. Melanie was in heaven! Look at that precious face! She was so happy. This Squish seriously is in love with animals. Her favorite animal right now is the owl. :)

She loved the "animulsh" (Melanie's pronunciation) so much Dallan and I decided to get some for herself.  We put them all in a circle and put Melanie in the middle of it. She thought that was so funny.

Our cousin Amanda and her kids came over for a visit a few weeks ago. She has kids that are close to Melanie's age and they all play and get along really well. It's nice because Melanie has kids her age that she can play with. Here is a picture of Melanie and Kylee laying around watching a movie.

Another time they came over and we met them at Red Robin for lunch. The three of them had fun playing around while we were waiting for our table.

This year we took Squish to a Corn Maze. I don't know if she liked it or not. She loved the fact that there was corn everywhere. Corn is one of her favorite foods right now. She would see an ear of corn, try to yank it off, and eat it. Gross.
Besides being surrounded by corn, I'm pretty sure it was just another walk to her. A long walk. Hahaha! Maybe next year she'll enjoy it a little more.

This picture makes me laugh. Hahaha!

Love these two!

"Say cheese for the camera!"

This picture of Melanie on Dallan's shoulders is just so cute.

Every morning, Melanie and I have "school." Where I teach her things like shapes, numbers, colors, the alphabet, etc. This particular day we learned about shapes!

This little girl loves to read. She'll find any comfy looking spot and park it to read a book. I guess this hamper looked pretty cozy. Hahaha!

Fall finally came and the leaves changed. So pretty. This was in my parents' front yard.

Melanie has a kick out of playing in the leaves. My mom and I piled up all the leaves for her to jump in and she would end up just running through them.

She liked it when we threw the leaves over her head. After we threw them in the air, she would try to throw them over her own head and bust up laughing. Lol!

"Look guys! Leaves!"

We were at Petsmart one night and who knew there was a thing called a "Urine Destroyer."
What the heck?
Hahaha!

Testing out a new do.... Swoop bangs.

This girl and her dog. They are so cute together. Melanie seriously adores Abby.
She wants Abby to follow her wherever she goes and if not.... She'll make her. As shown in this picture. Hahaha!

Boy does this dog have patience and put up with a lot....

But hugs make it all worth it.

I don't know how we got so lucky with Abby. In the mornings when we feed her, sometimes Melanie likes to go in her kennel with her and try to "feed" her. She'll stick her hand in Abby's food, grab a handful, and try to shove it in her mouth. Abby never growls or snaps at her, ever. I guess she knows that Melanie is just trying to help. :)

A fun thing about having a little girl is that you get to paint their nails! She likes having her nails done and she ALWAYS wants them "boo." Aka blue.

She sits still enough for me to even get fancy.

After bath time I always let her watch one of her shows before she goes to bed. It's usually Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood. That show gets the stupidest songs stuck in my head.
"You gotta try new foods cuz it might taste good." Ugh...

I always have to have a "pretty Utah" picture on the blog. This was close to my dad's work. We like to have lunch dates with him when we can. :)

I was giving Abby a bath and out of nowhere, Melanie runs in and dives into the bath with her. She wanted to help I guess.

The other week we had a lunch date with our best buds the Hugies. Madi and I took our kids to the state capitol to let them run around and then to Cafe Rio. Melanie and JJ sure play together nicely. They are quite cute.

One word. Cuties.

"Here JJ, have a sip."

Look at this next picture and tell me it doesn't make you smile.... You can't!
It's just so sweet. I mean yes they are on the ground and yes they were in peoples' ways, but COME ON it's so innocent and cute! Even the people that had to walk around them couldn't get upset. They just looked at them, walked around them, and smiled. It made their hearts happy. :)

Melanie likes to go in "Bah-pa's" (Melanie's version of Grandpa) office and pretend she's working with him. He works at his computer and she works at hers. Haha!

A couple weeks ago we took Melanie to the Pumpkin Patch! Now this she LOVED! She had a blast searching for the perfect pumpkin.
Ok, these next two pictures crack me up. She knows now that when we say "smile," it usually means we are about to take a picture. Here's her cute "picture" smile. Hahaha!

Our annual pumpkin patch family picture. :)

Love my girl.

These two are literally my whole world. I don't know what I would do without them.
I love them more than words can describe. :)

My mom and dad joined us for the fun.

"Come on, Mom. Follow me."

You need large amounts of concentration and determination when trying to pick up the perfect pumpkin.

After we picked out our pumpkins we all headed back to my parents' house to carve them. Luckily this time Melanie didn't try to eat the pumpkin guts. Yeah, she did that last year.... Yuck!

Melanie cleaning out her baby pumpkin with her Tata.

All finished!

Melanie and her uncle Ricky. :)

Of course she needs a picture with her Nana and Tata. :)

Masterpieces are finished. VOILA!
(I think that's how you spell it. It's pronounced "Vwah-La") Hahaha!

Before Halloween, we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Hope's house and decorated sugar cookies!
Melanie LOVED helping make them.

I'm pretty sure her favorite part was the frosting. She liked decorating the cookies with it and she also loved to lick it off her fingers. Haha! :)

They were yummy!

Ok at work, we had a pumpkin decorating contest with all the coworkers. My manager and I were partners. Here is our creation...
We did Princess Leia from Star Wars in the form of a pumpkin. Aka, Pumpkess Leia. Lol! We decorated the big pumpkin and then attached two tiny pumpkins on the sides for the buns, then wrapped her head in white cloth and tried to make it look like a hood.
The more I look at this picture the more I think it looks ridiculous. Hahaha!
Pumpkess Leia? Bahahaha! Oh gosh...

For Halloween Melanie and I were Kitties. Melanie was SUPPOSED to be Little Red Riding Hood, but she would not where the cloak I made her. No matter how much I tried to get her to, she would not wear it. So then I asked her if I could put makeup on her face and she said yes. Plan B... Kitty.

Two kitties and a zombie. Hahaha!

"Trick or Treat!"
At first Melanie was pretty shy, but she got the hang of it pretty quick.

We went trick-or-treating around my parents' neighborhood with them, my dad's cousins, and their young kids. Melanie loved going with kids around her own age. She had a blast. :)

After trick-or-treating instead of eating her candy, she wanted to eat grapes. Haha!

I love this cute kitty. :)

October was loads of fun. I'm kind of sad it's over, but I know we will have even more adventures and fun as the time goes on.

Now it's November.... That means more pictures and more blog posts!
