In June, we celebrated Father's Day! I know two of the best daddy's in the world! My Dad has taught me so much! He has always been there for me and done what he knows is best for our family (which included moving to Utah. Even though I didn't agree with it at first). I'm so glad, more like so GRATEFUL that he moved our family to Utah, because if he didn't I would have never met my husband and now Father to our little girl Melanie. Thanks Dad for dealing with teenage me and bringing our family to a better place.
Dallan is everything to me. My best friend. My high school sweetheart. My biggest support. My hard worker. My comedian. My protector. My worthy priesthood holder. My baby's father. My Eternal Companion. He is everything I could ask for in a husband. He is absolutely perfect for me and I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for introducing us to one another years ago. I know he wouldn't be the man he is today without his awesome Dad! I am so blessed to be around such great Dads!
I hope all the men out there had a Happy Father's Day!
A few weeks ago, I decided to give Melanie a hair cute. Ok, ok... it was just a bang trim, but still... It was a big deal. Hahaha!
"Uhh Mom, what in the heck are you doing to my head?"
Her expression in this picture is so funny to me. It's as if she is so concerned about what just happened. Hahaha!
All done!
"Ummm, I'm not too sure how I feel about this Mom."
I took a picture of the finished product (the bang trim) the following morning. I told her to smile and say cheese. This is the face she pulls. She's such a cheese ball. Hahaha!
Look at those cheeks and teeth!
It rained pretty bad one day and when it was over, there was a double rainbow. It was A LOT brighter in person. In the picture you can barely see the second rainbow on the left. Oh well, you get the point!
Also in June, my brother-in-law Justin got married to his true love Lacy. It took them long enough, but they finally did it. ;) Hahaha! Just kidding!
They had asked that Melanie be one of the flower girls for their ceremony and boy didn't she look cute! As a gift, they gave her a tiara to wear down the isle. It looked so cute on her.
I had my mom take pictures during the ceremony :) Here comes Dallan's parents!
They are quite the good lookin' couple!
There was no way Melanie was going to walk down the isle without either me or Dallan. She got way too shy and nervous to be around all those people she'd never seen before. Since Dallan was a groomsman, I helped out by holding the flower girls' hands. This picture was just before Melanie accidentally dropped the basket full of flower pedals. It was pretty cute and funny. While we were walking to the isle, Melanie accidentally dropped the basket and some of the pedals spilled all over the ground. She looked at me and said, "Uh oh, Mama." She then stopped, bent down, and tried to pick up the pedals and put them back in the basket. She thought she had made a mess. She made everyone giggle. It was pretty cute. I had to tell her that it was alright, and to just leave the basket and the pedals so that we could keep walking. She made it though! All the way down the isle she walked, without me having to hold her. She did great!
The handsome groom and the beautiful bride!
It was a very nice ceremony :)
Squish found a little friend during dinner. There was this little girl that was a few months younger than Melanie.
Melanie was so sweet and gentle with this girl. The little one was trying to climb the stairs and Melanie was so concerned for her safety. She kept putting her arm around her and would try her hardest to help this little girl go up the stairs. It was so cute to watch. It is so cute how caring children are towards one another. It was heart warming to see. Melanie is going to be such a good big sister one day.
Justin and Lacy had a photo booth at their reception. This is some of the Ebert side of the family trying to squeeze in to get a picture with Grandma. Hahaha!
Let's all give Grandma a kiss!
The finished product!
Of course Dallan and I had to get some pictures!
The second picture going down, is my favorite! Melanie's face is being squished by us kissing her!
Hahaha! :)
Grandpa wanted to have a dance with his grand-baby.
I had gone home by this time. Melanie was so done with the day and really needed to go to bed. It was WAY passed her bedtime. I was surprised she lasted as long as she did. Dallan stayed and took this picture of the bride and groom leaving for their honeymoon!
This is literally what Melanie did as soon as we got home from the wedding. Yeah, I think it's safe to say that she was exhausted. Hahaha!
The day after the wedding, the Hopes had a BBQ at our aunt Lori's house. Melanie saw that Dallan was taking this picture so naturally she cheesed it up with a funny face. Hahaha! That's my girl!
Mmmmm... Fruit. The fruit was so yummy that she needed two forks to shovel it in her mouth. Haha!
One of Melanie's new favorite movies. Toy Story.
She particularly likes the 3rd one.
Ya know.. the one where Andy is all grown up, ready to go to college, and Woody, Buzz, Jesse, Bullseye, Slinky, Rex, Ham, Mr., and Mrs., Potato Head almost die in the dump fire of doom! But they don't because the little green men save them by scooping them up with "the claw." Yeah, that one.
Hahaha!
I got new glasses and had to take a selfie.
My good friend Nicole and I had a girl's day and had loads of fun. We thought that this time we should get our craft on and paint something. This is what I made for Melanie's room. Ain't it cute?
I figured out how to do my own glitter toes! Just nail polish, loose glitter, and a top coat to seal the deal.
Who would've thought it was that easy? The picture doesn't do it justice though. It looked WAY better in person.
I love this little girl so much!
I tell Melanie to smile and this is the face she pulls. Hahaha!
Silly kid!
Ok, this is quite funny to me. Squish has this new thing that she likes to do. She likes to cross her fingers. Hahaha! She does it all the time. But she can only do it with her right hand. Dallan told her to cross her fingers so that he could take a picture and this is what she does. She gives herself a crossed finger mustache. :)
The world cup has come across us. Who do I root for?! Chile or the USA?!
Honestly.....
I could care less. I hate soccer.
I'd rather lick a toilet seat than watch people kick a ball around. Ok not really, but you get my point. I do not enjoy watching soccer. BORING!
Ok, like my post title states... It wouldn't be a completed post without someone getting sick. This time, it was a double wammy. Melanie caught the hand, foot, and mouth disease. :( Poor thing. She was so so so sick. It broke my heart to see her like that.
I am so glad that she is doing loads better and acting like her sweet self again.
Not to mention, I was so done with getting puked on every couple of hours.
She had these sores/blisters EVERYWHERE. Her little mouth was full of them so she drooled so much. Poor thing. I hate to see little ones so sick. :(
The 3rd of July came around and so naturally people can't wait until the actual holiday to blow up fireworks. This was the view from the back yard. It's cool that we can blow up air fireworks in Utah, but people come on, PLEASE wait until Independence Day and Pioneer Day to do it. I have a dog that freaks the heck out and a baby who can't sleep because of the constant "BOOM!" Let's be considerate please..
My little cutie in her 4th of July outfit!
We had dinner at my parents' house. Melanie loves to go in their back yard and play around.
Since the hand, foot, and mouth disease is very contagious, Dallan and I decided to just do our own fireworks this year. My parents were going to a neighborhood party where there are a million and a half kids. We decided not to go with them for everyone else's safety. I would hate for another little one to get sick because of us.
And I'll tell ya, hand, foot, and mouth disease SUCKS!
Family photo on the lawn before Daddy becomes a pyro and lights off beautiful explosives.
Dallan was showing Melanie the "snakes." It's this thing where you light it up and it grows and gets long and is supposed to look like a snake... hence the name. Honestly, it looks just like a skinny long turd if you ask me.
Melanie sure loves her Daddy.
Then came the fun stuff to light up!
Believe me, they were a lot cooler in person.
Here's a better picture of the skinny turds. I mean "snakes."
See what I mean though? Weird things. Hahaha!
Then came my favorite... SPARKLERS!
Melanie was mesmerized.
"Mommy, I want to try!"
"Dad, can I help you hold the sparkler?"
A couple days after, Dallan's mom found some more snappers. The little white things that you throw on the ground and they make popping sounds. Melanie got to do those on the 4th, but I forgot to take a picture. Luckily, there were more! She's too little to throw them hard enough on the ground to pop so we put them on the ground so that she could step on them. Hahaha! She had fun and it is so cute to watch her try to stomp on them super hard so that they POP!
Our sweet little girl. She sure knows how to pose for a picture!
How can you look at this precious face and not smile? It's impossible!
So far summer has been a blast... literally... Get it? With the fireworks and stuff?
Anyways, more fun to come! Pioneer day is just around the corner!
